An attempt has been made to reveal the alterations in the folk’s etiquette in this period by analysing salutations, farewells, regards, thanksgivings as well as their usage and nonverbal communication forms (embrace, kissing, nodding, etc.). The research accomplished had witnessed that the forms of the folk’s language etiquette were inconstant during this period in Rumšiškės Township and its vicinities. The old generation of Rumšiškės dwellers tried to perform the role of the keepers of the folk’s etiquette traditions, but the young generation due to the sovietisation, society democratisation and intensification of modernisation–the processes which took part in the second half of the 20th century–had chosen innovation of the folk’s language etiquette and bore them from generation to generation.
